Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Nathan Donato, doing business as RitalgoClip ("RitalgoClip", "we", "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the RitalgoClip service (the "Service"). It applies to this website and everything the Service does on your behalf.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: your email address and username. Authentication is managed by a third-party provider; we never store your password in plaintext.
- Billing information: your payment-processor customer ID and subscription status. Your card details are held only by our payment processor — they never touch our servers.
- Social platform integration (only if you connect an account): OAuth access and refresh tokens, your display name on that platform, and performance metrics for videos you publish through the Service.
- Content and usage data: video URLs you submit, files you upload, live streams you direct the Service to capture, and everything generated from them — clips, transcripts, derived analysis data, titles, captions — plus your job history and job settings.
- Technical data: strictly-necessary authentication/session cookies; IP addresses in server logs used for rate limiting and abuse prevention; and analytics data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, and referral source collected via Google Analytics.
- Product usage events: when you are signed in, we record which features you use and when. For example, we record that you submitted a job, opened the editor, or downloaded a clip, along with context such as the setting you chose or the number of clips produced. For a clip download, we also record the internal identifier of the generated clip. These events are linked to your account so we can understand where people get stuck and which outputs are useful. They never include your video URLs, file names, clip titles, transcripts, or any other content you create.
3. How We Use Information
We use this information to operate the Service (run the video processing pipeline you request), authenticate you, bill subscriptions, prevent abuse, provide support, send service-related communications, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
Product usage events are kept in our own database and are also sent to Google Analytics, where they are associated with a random account identifier so that activity from the same account can be recognised across visits and devices. The internal clip identifier attached to a download stays in our own database and is not sent to Google Analytics. We never send your name or email address to Google Analytics. Where the law requires a lawful basis, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies and on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the Service for the usage events tied to your account.
4. Cookies and Do Not Track
We set strictly-necessary authentication and session cookies. We also store small amounts of data in your browser to remember your own preferences — your analytics choice, your last-used job settings, and whether you have completed the first-run tour. That information stays on your device, is not used to track you, and is cleared when you clear this site's data.
We also use Google Analytics, which may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure site traffic and usage (for example, which pages are visited and how visitors find the site). We do not use advertising or cross-site marketing trackers, and we have disabled the Google Analytics features that would feed this data into advertising or remarketing audiences.
If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any analytics cookie is set, and nothing is stored or sent until you accept. You can decline, and the Service works exactly the same either way. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default. Wherever you are, you can change your answer at any time, and turning analytics off is as easy as turning it on:
— also linked in the footer of every page. Your choice is stored in this browser, so set it once per browser or device you use. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
5. Service Providers
The Service uses third-party providers that process data on our behalf, including:
- Authentication and database hosting — providers that manage login and store account and job records.
- Payment processing — a third-party payment processor for subscriptions (payment card details are handled only by that processor, not our servers).
- AI analysis — third-party AI providers that process video and audio you submit for clip scoring and transcription. We use paid API tiers under which providers do not use this content to train their models.
- Cloud compute and storage — providers that run the video processing pipeline and store your uploads and generated clips (stored privately with time-limited access).
- Security and abuse prevention — infrastructure used for rate limiting and similar protections.
- Website analytics— Google Analytics, which processes usage data on our behalf so we can measure traffic and improve the Service. Google's use of this data is also governed by Google's own privacy policy.
- Transactional email — a third-party email provider that delivers service messages such as job-finished notifications and occasional requests for feedback on your results. You can turn job notification emails off in Settings.
- Social publishing(only when you connect an account) — the relevant platform's API to publish clips and read video metrics on your behalf.
6. When We Share Information
We share information only with the service providers above (to operate the Service), when required by law, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of RitalgoClip or others. We never sell it.
7. Data Retention
We keep your clips and job history while your account is active or until you ask us to delete it. Source videos and other large intermediate files are removed on a rolling basis once they are no longer needed to provide the Service, so an older job may still list its clips after the original source has been deleted. Product usage events are deleted automatically 400 days after they are recorded, and immediately if you delete your account. Data may also be deleted as part of routine service operations (see the service availability disclaimer in our Terms of Service).
8. Your Choices: Access, Correction, Deletion
You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. This is immediate and permanent: it cancels any active subscription (without a partial refund for the current period), revokes tokens for connected social accounts, and erases your jobs, clips, uploads, and usage events. We keep no copy afterwards, so download anything you want to keep first.
You can also request access to, or correction of, your personal information — or ask us to delete it on your behalf — by emailing support@ritalgo.app. We will act on verified requests within 30 days. Disconnecting a connected social account in Settings revokes our use of associated tokens without deleting the rest of your account.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, private storage with time-limited private access, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — please keep your own copies of important material.
10. Age Requirement
The Service is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us at support@ritalgo.app and we will delete it.
11. California Notice
For California residents: Sections 2, 4, 6, and 8 describe the categories of personal information we collect, our Do Not Track practices, the third parties we share information with, and how to review and request changes to your information, as required by the California Online Privacy Protection Act.
12. Changes to This Policy
We will post any changes at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes we will provide notice on the site or by email before the changes take effect.
